Living The Eight Limbs of Yoga

An 8-Week Immersion with Alison Quinlan

Thursdays 8 pm–9.15 pm
Starts 15th January 2026

The Eight Limbs of Yoga come from an ancient text called The Yoga Sūtras, written by a sage

named Patañjali around 2,000 years ago in India.

Think of Patañjali as someone who didn’t “invent” yoga, but organised it, gathering existing teachings

and practices into a clear, structured path.

Before the Yoga Sūtras, yoga was a mixture of techniques, philosophies, and spiritual practices passed down orally from teacher to student. Patañjali stepped in and said (essentially):
“Here’s the path. Follow these eight steps, and you’ll understand yourself more deeply and live with more ease.”

He arranged the practices into eight interconnected limbs, not meant to be mastered one at a time,

but explored together as a way of living with clarity and balance.

What to Expect

  • A calm, reflective Wednesday evening ritual
  • Philosophy that actually makes sense in modern life
  • Tools for grounding, clarity, and emotional steadiness
  • Beautiful practices you can use at home
  • A supportive group space at Namaste House

If you’re craving more depth, meaning, and steadiness as we step into a new year, this might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

I’m opening enrolment for a new eight-week course: Living The Eight Limbs of Yoga — a gentle, grounded journey through the traditional yogic path, explored in a warm and accessible way.

Each week we dive into one limb through discussion, mantra, breathwork, mudra, meditation and gentle somatic movement.
No pressure, no performance — simply a space to understand yoga on a deeper level and feel it come alive in your daily life.
