Students must have a regular yoga practice in place before joining the course (ideally 2-years).
Our teaching team is led by Alison Quinlan, ERYT/ YACEP/ Senior Yoga Teacher, Yoga Alliance Professionals, accompanied by David Quinlan, Iyengar Yoga Teacher & RYT500, assisted by Courtney Griffin, Hatha Yoga Teacher ERYT200 and Maria White RYT200.
This 200-hour training will give you the knowledge, support and technique you need to begin teaching yoga in a clear and confident way.
You’ll learn asana techniques, sequencing structures and ways to safely cue and guide your students. You will learn to think analytically and approach teaching with an enquiring mind, questions about your own choices and your own history. You’ll also advance and refine your own practice by being immersed in Alison’s systematic method of vinyasa yoga.
This Namaste House YTT will give you a foundation to start teaching yoga, focusing on beginners, private sessions and small groups, since these are wonderful places for new teachers to start. The curriculum has a number of units of practice and study: asana practice, functional anatomy, philosophy, pranayama, mantra, meditation and teaching methodology. These can be intertwined: functional anatomy informs asana practice and teaching techniques, and philosophical enquiry grounds you in the yoga tradition and guides your teaching.
Learn a skilful and comprehensive approach to practising and teaching vinyasa yoga. Yoga is much more than an asana practice, and at the same time, the asana practice is the main place where people experience all the other dimensions of their practice. You will deepen and refine your own practice while learning the most effective techniques to teach your future students.
Alison believes that at its core, yoga is the study of humanness and transcendence. You’ll study the history, wisdom and philosophical paradigms that form the yoga tradition. At Namaste House we feel that yoga off the mat is as important as on the mat. In addition to philosophical discussion, it is here we will also explore mantra, pranayama and meditation.
You will graduate from Namaste House YTT with confidence in your understanding and practice of the Eight Limbs of yoga. The team is fully available and dedicated to you during our time together.
